The right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.
- The Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution -
Who We Are
Our mission is twofold:

Firstly, we work to survey candidates across the country concerning their Second Amendment stances and reveal their views to the public - our members, the media, and others who are interested in these questions.
At every level of government, we seek to discover and reveal who would protect our rights, and who would inhibit them.
That way, voters can make informed choices at the polls and stop the government gun-grabbing that aims to destroy our constitutional protections.

Secondly, we inform gun owners of pending state and federal legislation that has an impact on their Second Amendment rights, and lobby for or against that legislation. We work to ensure that the principles outlined by our Founding Fathers materialize in the form of laws that protect our rights. Click here to see our current legislative issues.
Why Gun Rights Matter
Too often rules and regulations make it difficult for law-abiding citizens to legally carry a firearm to protect himself and his family. Instead of keeping Americans safe, many ordinances create a complicated and expensive gun control bureaucracy.
In addition, since our nation’s founding it has been understood that the possibility of a tyrannical government is a very real one. The ultimate resource to prevent such an end is a citizenry with the right to defend itself against such tyranny.
Should the government crack down on our Second Amendment rights, there would be no ultimate impediment for it to run roughshod over all the others. To that end, we seek to uphold the Second Amendment and its explicit edict:
“...the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
Statement of Purpose
The National Gun Owners Alliance seeks to inform our members and the public on the candidates views regarding the possession of firearms by law-abiding citizens.
After all, crooks always manage to get their hands on firearms.
Too often, though, rules and regulations make it difficult for law-abiding citizens to legally carry a firearm to protect himself and his family. Instead of keeping Americans safe, many ordinances create a complicated and expensive gun control bureaucracy.
No concealed carry law has ever persuaded a criminal to obtain the government’s permission to carry firearms. A Justice Department survey of perpetrators of crimes with handguns showed that 93% had obtained their guns in ways other than buying them at gun stores. The only thing registration and concealed carry laws succeed in doing is burdening the law-abiding citizen, the one in whose hands the firearms ultimately belong.
Moreover, studies show that when the citizens are armed, the crime rates diminish. A study by the Justice Department found that “a criminal is not going to mess around with a victim he knows is armed with a gun.” Of all the felons polled, 57% agreed that “criminals are more worried about meeting an armed victim that they are about running into police.”
"How a politician stands on the Second Amendment tells you how he or she views you as an individual... as a trustworthy and productive citizen, or as part of an unruly crowd that needs to be lorded over, controlled, supervised, and taken care of."
